Our strength and our big size in the sub Saharan banking sector is the first
characteristic. With regard to the financial indicators, our consolidated figures as at
30th of June 2008 show a balance sheet size close to the 3 billion USD, deposits higher
than 2.2 billion USD, shareholders equities of some 280 million USD, and a net profit
which is running on an annual trend of 80 million USD for the current year: that ranks
us around 50th among all the African banks. In terms of global presence BANK OF
AFRICA, born from “scratch” in 1982 in Mali, now consists of a network of some 20
companies involved in banking and financial activities and operational in eleven

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’m happy to welcome you to the official
opening of another BANK OF AFRICA Branch in Mbale. This is the ninth
branch of the bank .This year alone, we have opened Branches in Arua,
Ntinda in Kampala, Mbale, Lira which started operations on 29th September,
and are on course to open in Mbarara by the end of the month. This
expansion obviously supports our commitment and promise to deliver world
class service to our customers. The decision to set up a branch in Mbale
resulted from the diverse untapped business opportunities in this area. The
new branch supports our commercial strategy of extending our foot print to the fast growing business regions of the country. Our target is to cover the country within the next five years. Read more

The extension of our network to Ntinda was a result of the growing
customer numbers which required us to extend our service delivery
channels closer to locations where such customers can access our
services conveniently. With Kampala business district increasingly
becoming more difficult to access due to traffic jams coupled with
the challenges of getting parking space, we believe that this branch
will enable our customers to transact more easily........ Read more
